All Ords 7205 up 20 pts or 0.3%

Trading portfolio
A 2.3% fall in SciDev shares (SDV, 85.5¢ down 2¢, $110m undiluted) cut 1.4% from portfolio value. Here are the daily and hourly charts. At one point the stock hit 89¢, only 0.5¢ from the January high, before pulling back. That area of 89-90¢ is now quite a strong resistance level.

Movements in other stocks added 0.2% to portfolio value. Main influences were BTH +8% and AVH -2%.

This morning I made some changes to the gold company holdings, selling out of the bigger players EVM, NST, RRL and SAR, doubling up on Gold Road Resources (GOR, $1.65 up 3.5¢, $1.5b) at $1.67 and buying into West African Resources (WAF, 52.5¢ up 2.5¢, $457m) at 52¢. I made quite good money on the majors, and they are good high quality businesses, but I feel I am better off in the smaller producers (including SLR) that have more leverage to exploration success and the same or similar leverage to gold prices.

Long term portfolio
The portfolio rose 1.1% today. A 1.8% rise in Electro Optic Systems shares (EOS, $9.82 up 17¢, $1.1b) added 0.7% to portfolio value.

The other stocks added 0.3% to portfolio value. Most rose a little with the main influence being ALU +2%.

Phoslock (PET, 74¢ down 4¢, $418m)
Here are the daily and hourly charts. Still in downtrend with resistance at 79¢ and 89¢. Have made further progress on my research report so perhaps I can publish it tomorrow.

Other stocks
Nothing today.

New breakouts of interest
None today.
